My Review:
Ghosts of Kingston Cottage is a perfect Halloween read. It's short and enjoyable, easy to finish in a short amount of time and leaves you feeling you have read a complete story. Sometimes novellas fall short of this, but this one by Libby Bishop does not.

This is the story of Lucas and Arabella and of two ghosts who loved each other deeply in the past. When Lucas joins Arabella's crew of paranormal specialists (an empath and a camera/equipment man), Arabella who is a widely esteemed medium is less than thrilled. She doesn't trust reporters or men much anymore. But as they spend time together on the island and in Kingston Cottage, she begins to think different of him. Lucas just reports what the truth is and he doesn't want people taken in by misleading mediums and other people who claim to have abilities to reach into the paranormal world. He doesn't think Arabella and her group are leading people wrong, but he's there to make sure. He's fair and he really listens and watches Arabella and of course he likes what he sees. I liked both Lucas and Arabella. Quite a bit of history is packed into Arabella's story for the novella format. Less is known about Lucas but the main things come to light. So it makes it easy to believe in the romance which happens relatively fast, but slow in terms of the span of the novella. Which I really liked.

The story of why they are on the island is interesting and I enjoyed their search while they were there. There is mystery and romance involved and then the paranormal factor as well. A lot was packed into this novella and Ms. Bishop does a great job moving the plot along and growing her characters through the story.

If you are looking for spooky, romantic Halloween or fall read, then check out Ghosts of Kingston Cottage. I really enjoyed it and I think you might too!

My Rating: 4.5/5.0 stars

About the Book:
She believes in ghosts.

Medium and paranormal investigator Arabella Pierce is sent with her crew to Kingston Cottage, a haunted Maine seafarer’s cottage on an isolated island, but for this investigation, her boss has stuck them with skeptical reporter Lucas Brown. Though he’s hot as they come, Arabella can’t trust a man whose sole job is to discredit her and the work she does. Not after what happened with the last few skeptics...

He believes in evidence.

But Lucas isn’t as skeptical as he seems—he wants the truth, no matter what that is. When the ghosts appear, he and Arabella must work together—in tight quarters—to convince the resident ghosts to move on before a storm strands the entire crew on the island. If Arabella can put aside her prejudices, she and Lucas just might have a shot at a lifetime.
