2. How many books have you read so far?  0
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? Finishing Night Road
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day?  I was involved with my boys' baseball for almost 8 hours then a nap, so no
5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?  See above - but I'm hoping for several hours of limited interruptions later.
6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? That I missed out on so much
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? No - I think you do a wonderful job!
8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year?  Pray that there are no ballgames during the read-a-thon! :)
9. Are you getting tired yet? No, I took a nap earlier.
10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered? Not that I can think of, but I think the cheerleaders have been awesome!

***I received this book from the publisher for an honest review.  I was not compensated in any other way except receiving the book for free.  I do not receive money for my amazon links since I live in NC (something about some law), so they are up purely for my readers to have a place to check out the book.***

Dewey's 24-Hour-Read-A-Thon Start (well not yet for me)

Well I had hoped for the best with the spring read-a-thon.  Cub Scout campout is next weekend so I was good there, then the monkey wrench of baseball was thrown in.  We were told when the boys' started baseball practice that opening ceremonies would be April 9.  Okay, I can deal with that.  We were told there would be no ball games.  Great, just an hour and a half out of my day.  Of course it didn't stay that way.  Next Logan's team added pictures at 12:00 after opening ceremonies at 10:00.  Then they decided to have games.  Jacob has one at 11:30 and Logan's is at 1:30 (at least I can watch both of them play).  Jacob will also have pictures at 9:10 so we have to be to the fields by 9:00.  So it looks like I will be at the baseball fields from 9am-3:30pm today.  I will probably read during the waiting times, but I may not, my parents will be there and I am sure I will talk with parents.  I will have a book with me and may sneak off some to read.

This first hour of the read-a-thon may yield some reading but I'm pretty sure it will be full of getting boys in uniforms, taking my own pictures and making sure all their equipment is together.  For those of you starting now - have fun - I will do some blog hopping when I get home.

I know when I get home around 4:00 I will start the read-a-thon in earnest.  Hubby will have to handle supper and I plan on reading until I fall asleep :)  I'll update later, but if you want to join in the read-a-thon, it's not too late - head over to the read-a-thon blog and join right in!

So a little about me . . .

1)Where are you reading from today? Beaugiful but not sunny coastal NC
2)Three random facts about me…
  1. I love warm weather and hate cold weather and we have had our coldest winter complete with 4 snows (hey I'm in coastal NC) this past winter
  2. I have two sons, one is 10 and the other is about to be 6 and they couldn't be more different
  3. I love dark chocolate and got me some 100 calorie snacks that involve chocolate and mint to snack on when home today
3)How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
Sadly because of my limited day only about 1-2
4)Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
Just to enjoy this year since I'll be gone the first 8 hours.
5)If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
Enjoy yourself, read when you can, read some blogs and if you have to do something don't stress, just come back to it when you can!
